ENGLISH FOR THE WORKPLACE – 8 Weeks

The Workplace Readiness program is English as an Additional Language EAL program.

Developed by ACLA ESL teachers with the support of professional Human Resource and Recruitment specialist’s advice to help you connect better in an interview in Canada and the workplace. This stand-alone course focuses entirely on workplace communication and employment readiness. Connect better with people.

SCHEDULE

  • 8 week course covers 28 hours over the duration of the program from in class with an ESL teacher, to on-line with a Coach.
  • Small groups of 10 meet weekly for 2 hours in a group class with the ESL teacher
  • 1.5 hours of individual Language training and coaching per week.    

Course Start Dates:

  • Feb 2nd 9:00-11:00 AST

Marianne Stante

ESL Teacher
BA, TESL

Marianne is an experienced ESL teacher with a background in Academic ESL. She has been teaching for more than 20 years and has travelled to more than 30 countries.

She started her ESL experience in Vancouver, BC, after a 6-month backpacking trip across Europe. She appreciated the varied cultures and nationalities she experienced and this shaped her drive to teach English. She taught in Korea for five years at various levels and ages, from kindergarten to seniors! Once back in Canada, she carried out language assessments for Citizenship and Immigration, helping newcomers study English by placing them in the appropriate classes. She comes to us from Ontario and is happy to be making Nova Scotia her new home
