I really enjoyed studying English at ACLA. The teachers always answered me when I had questions. In particular, I struggled with pronunciation (and still do, haha), so I wanted to improve my pronunciation and they taught me again and again. Additionally, my classmates were so kind too! They helped me when I didn't understand. We sometimes taught each other.
I knew I wanted to volunteer when I came to Canada. I got the opportunity to do it. I was able to have a conversation with many people in English.
On my birthday, I was celebrated by everyone at ACLA, at home, and at my work. It is my sweet memory. I never forget it.
My stay in Lunenburg was fantastic! ACLA connected me with a wonderful host family who supported me throughout my time there. (I was able to work at the best restaurant in Lunenburg because of them! That was my great experience.)

It was actually good to have activities every weekday because they were opportunities to get along with everyone and improve my English skills. I’ll never forget the memories there!

I spent 10 months last year studying at the ACLA school in Lunenburg. I also learned about Canadian history and culture, which I was very interested in. I met enthusiastic teachers, had classmates from various countries, and stayed with a cheerful and kind Canadian host mother. ⠀
⠀ Also, the school provided many activities and volunteer opportunities after class, so I had a very fulfilling experience in Canada. Playing Pickleball is not only a great way to exercise, but it also allowed me to participate in the local Canadian community and made friends with the locals. Searching for gold on the sandy beach became a very fun memory. ⠀
⠀ Currently, I am continuing to take online classes in Japan. In addition, for after class activities, I join the Cooking Club and the Conversation Club. I am very grateful to the school for preparing so many learning opportunities. I would like to improve my English skills and go to Canada again.

"I made a lot of nice friends, and I enjoyed studying English so much with them. And, all the teachers are very kind and fun, and I enjoyed their classes so much! In the activities, we went to Halifax and Wolfville, did kayaking, and went fruit picking. I especially loved kayaking. It was my first time and I was so nervous, but I had such a fun time! The time spent with ACLA is an amazing memory and experience!"

ACLA gave me the security and confidence I needed. Here, I don't feel ashamed of making mistakes because no one judges you, and the teachers are always there when you have doubts. Something I like about this academy is that it has teachers from the USA, Canada, and England. I love the diversity of countries because it helps you differentiate between accents and greatly improves your listening comprehension.
When I arrived here, I didn't know any English and didn't understand anything people said. I felt very lost and frustrated, but ACLA helped me a lot to improve my listening comprehension. Nowadays, I can say that I understand much better and can have conversations with people, something I used to see as impossible.
My classmates and teachers have been a great support both academically and personally. I never thought I would meet such amazing people as my classmates. It has always been a dream for me to meet people from different countries, and now that I'm here, it's amazing! I feel very happy and grateful for this opportunity that ACLA has given me. They're always concerned about how we can improve and are a great support when you feel frustrated.
ACLA has also given me the opportunity to explore different parts of Nova Scotia. They always have activities after class hours, like going to the movies or participating in a conversation club at a café. One of the best experiences I've had was seeing Michelle Obama in Halifax.
