Building Educational Bridges Between Morocco and Canada – Connecting across the Atlantic Ocean

Atlantic Canada Language Academy (ACLA), one of Canada’s leading accredited English language institutions, and Bridges Centre for Culture and Communication, one of Morocco’s respected providers of Language education, are proud to announce a strategic partnership that will expand access to quality English education online and in person, teacher development, and Canadian study pathways for students across Morocco.

The partnership was officially announced by Michelle Alcorn, President & CEO of Atlantic Canada Language Academy in world UNESCO Lunenburg Nova Scotia, and Meriem Fitzgerald, Director of Bridges Centre for Culture and Communication in Rabat Morocco, following a series of planning meetings held in Rabat. Their shared vision is to create innovative educational opportunities that connect Morocco and Canada while preparing students for success in an increasingly global world.

With more than 16 years of proven educational excellence each, ACLA and Bridges have built strong reputations for delivering student-centred learning, academic quality, and meaningful international opportunities. This new partnership strengthens the educational bridge between Morocco and Canada by combining the strengths of two institutions that share the same commitment to helping students succeed.

Expanding Opportunities Across Morocco

Beginning in August 2026, ACLA and Bridges will introduce a range of collaborative educational programs across Bridges’ three campuses in Morocco.

The cornerstone of this partnership is the launch of the Maximizing English Teaching (MET) Program, an innovative teacher development program designed by experienced English educators to prepare the next generation of English language teachers.

Delivered through a hybrid learning model, students will attend classes at Bridges while receiving live instruction from Canadian educators at Atlantic Canada Language Academy. A classroom facilitator will support learners on-site, creating an engaging learning environment that mirrors today’s international education landscape.

The program prepares future teachers to confidently deliver both classroom-based and online English instruction while developing practical skills in lesson planning, classroom management, student engagement, assessment, and educational technology.

As demand for qualified English teachers continues to grow throughout Morocco and internationally, the MET Program will help develop educators who are prepared to teach in schools, language centres, businesses, and online learning environments.

Canadian English Programs Available in Morocco

In addition to teacher training, Atlantic Canada Language Academy will deliver a comprehensive range of part-time and full-time online English language programs for students studying through Bridges, bringing extensive on-line programs to Bridges students taught by highly educated Canadian Teachers.

These programs will complement the excellent education already offered by Bridges while giving students the flexibility to study from home or at one of the Bridges campuses, supported by both the Moroccan and Canadian teaching teams.

Opening More Pathways to Canada

One of the partnership’s greatest strengths is the opportunity it creates for students wishing to continue their education in Canada.

Atlantic Canada Language Academy has established more than 18 pathway agreements with Canadian colleges and universities, providing students with opportunities to continue their academic journey after successfully completing their English language studies.

These pathways help students transition into Canadian post-secondary education while benefiting from the academic preparation and confidence developed through ACLA’s programs.

Students will also have opportunities to participate in ACLA’s immersive Summer English Programs in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to Atlantic Canada Language Academy.
